ONBOARD THE SEABOURN OVATION

How does she look, the Seabourn Ovation? What belongs to the All Inclusive concept? Would I feel comfy on that ship?

The Seabourn Ovation

Who has attentively read the first paragraph and knows me a little, now certainly thinks, why could she feel well? Wouldn´t she notice that on the cruise?

Well, now I have to disappoint you. This is not a cruise report for a change, but rather about the lay time of the Seabourn Ovation in the beautiful port of Hamburg.

I have the opportunity to visit and view the newest vessel of the Seabourn fleet of the Cunard company. They are part of the Carnival Corporation.

Therefore, today there are only a few “hard” facts and a lot of pictures that I think speak for themselves.

The grand finale of the tour through the public spaces and the visit of the standard suite 516, is a delicious three-course meal.

And to anticipate, I could feel comfortable on this ship ….

The Seabourn Ovation, which has been launched for the first time in spring 2018, has got only veranda suites. The smallest between 23 and 28 square meters, and the Grand Wintergarden Suite got 120 square meters. Unfortunately, I cannot visit this one because someone lives there.

The Seabourn Ovation has got a sister ship, the Seabourn Encore that cruises the world’s oceans since the 2016th. Both take up to 600 passengers and there are almost as many crew members of many nationalities on board.

The board language is English, the guests are international, mostly 45+ years, children and adolescents are rather rare and there is no special program for them.

I like the many outdoor areas of the restaurants. Included in the cruise rate is “The Grill” by Thomas Keller, the star chef, it only needs to be reserved in advance. Otherwise you can come to the opening hours of all restaurants, whenever you like. There is no table arrangement either.

Speaking of all inclusive, there is hardly anything that needs to be paid extra. Champagne and caviar are also included.

My insider tip on board would be the small pool with jacuzzi on deck 5 aft, a door from “The Club” leads to this small pool area.

For those who want to have it exclusively and quiet during the day, they reserve a cabana on deck 12 front, in “The Retreat”. The cabanas are designed as small rooms open to the front, overlooking the sea or the harbor. Even a TV is installed in every cabana, but the question arises when all have switched on the TV, is it still quiet there? Surely there is a solution for that …

And now I let the pictures speak, have fun watching!
